Roleplaying journal of Natalia for lj comm=FILL THIS IN 8D.
History: Born Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear, daughter of a high-ranking nobleman in Valhalla, she was raised from a very young age to act like a proper lady, as befitting her status. By the time she turned eight she was betrothed to Asch fon Fabre, a close family friend and her half-cousin. They spent the majority of their time together, growing from infants to adulthood, and over the years formed a strong bond. Eventually Asch left home to join the military, leaving Natalia to await his return and their eventual marriage.
That was the theory, at least. Left alone to her thoughts, and without the distraction of Asch's company, Natalia opened her eyes to what was going on within the world and her own country, and decided that not enough was being done to help the people in need. She petitioned her father, other noblemen of high rank, and eventually the government to shift their support to those beneath, but all her efforts were ignored - much to her frustration. Her father hoped she would abandon the futile endeavour after so much rejection, but Natalia is nothing if not determined. She decided that if the royal family would not help her, then she would turn to more drastic measures: the wild and the free: the pirates, of course. After less thought than was probably wise, she ran away from home, cut her hair and disguised herself as a boy to smuggle herself amongst these people, in the hopes of recruiting them to her cause.
As a child she had something of a convoluted image of what pirates were like - manly men, soldiers of the sky, who take orders from no one and basically give the finger to those in positions of authority. Thanks to Asch's influence, she thought they were men who believed in freedom for all. Unfortunately many of those she met were more interested in freedom for themselves and getting filthy rich. Her dreams somewhat dashed, she wandered from place to place until she wound up in Tortuga and unexpectedly joined the crew of The Polina, owned and managed by Guy Cecil. She was drawn to it initially because Luke, Guy's other crewmember, was practically a physical carbon copy of Asch. Unfortunately Guy's mission statement was as lackluster as the rest, but luckily he and Luke were easygoing enough that Natalia could manipulate them into helping her out. She joined the crew as a navigator and a medic, still disguised and using the alias "Meryl".
